The Gathering (Original Drawing)
The Gathering (Original Drawing)
With their limbs delicately interwoven, the tightly gathered trees seemed to be laughing as the wind wound through them. Meanwhile, I carried a large pack of art supplies, a bad mood, and the high-stress levels that this bizarre year has dumped on all of us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tired, I put down my pack, pulled out my drawing supplies, and started thinking.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How long does it even take a tree to grow into adulthood?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many years does a tree spend in the darkness alone before it ever gets to manages to see sunlight? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do they balance their complicated network of roots while still giving enough room for their neighbor to grow? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many storms had these trees endured before I found them at this moment basking in the warm morning?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Though I had no more answers when I closed my sketchbook. My pack was lighter when I walked on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
