Trees don’t grow in clear linear paths. With only a vague knowledge that they need sunlight, they branch out in all directions. Large limbs are established with more direct routes and flourish in the sunlight. The trees grow deeper, the bark grows thicker, and soon they need more light and nutrients to live. Old paths must be retraced and evolved. Entirely new approaches must be forged in the shadows of past growth. Each journey to the sun becomes more lengthy and arduous. Yet, they never stop reaching.
